Framer Marketplace: How Buying a Template Works in 2026

How the Framer Marketplace works in 2026: who sells the templates, what the free and paid licences allow, and how buying direct from a studio differs.

The Framer Marketplace is Framer's catalogue of templates, components, plugins and vectors made by independent creators. Free templates come with a Limited licence; paid ones come with a Single-Use licence that covers one project. Framer lists the template, but the creator sells it, takes the payment, handles refunds and gives support.

That last point surprises most buyers, and it changes how you should compare a Marketplace listing with buying from a template studio directly. This guide walks through what Framer's own terms say, what a listing tells you, and where the differences matter for freelancers and agencies.

Bias disclosure: Waida Studio sells Framer templates on its own site, and our free Framer templates are also listed on the Framer Marketplace. Every Marketplace fact below comes from Framer's pages as published on 24 October 2026, quoted where it matters, so you can check it yourself.

What Is the Framer Marketplace?

The Framer Marketplace is a listing site at framer.com/marketplace where creators publish templates, components, plugins and vectors for Framer. Framer's Community Terms call it an online marketplace operated by Framer, and describe Framer's role as a platform provider that helps people list and discover creator content.

Templates are the biggest section. You can sort them by Trending, Best and Recent, filter by price and style, and browse categories such as Portfolio, SaaS, Agency, Real Estate, Restaurants and Fitness. Each listing has a live preview, a page list, the creator's name and either a free remix button or a buy button.

If you are new to the builder itself, start with what Framer is and who it suits; this article assumes you already want a Framer site and are deciding where the template comes from.

Who Actually Sells a Framer Marketplace Template?

The creator sells it, not Framer. The Community Terms say that Framer "does not process, collect, hold, or disburse any payments between Creators and End Users", and that all payments for paid content happen directly between the creator and the buyer.

You can see this on the listings. On the templates page we fetched today, the buy buttons pointed to checkouts run by Polar, Contra and Lemon Squeezy, plus short links, while free templates linked to a Framer remix link. Caspia by Lunis Design ($79) sends you to Contra; Spector by Tamas Bodo ($129) sends you through a dub.sh link.

So a paid Marketplace purchase is really a purchase from an independent seller, using whatever checkout that seller chose. Framer's job is the shop window and the remix mechanism.

What the Framer Marketplace Licence Allows

Paid templates carry a Single-Use Commercial Licence for one end product or project. Free templates carry a Limited Commercial Licence that allows your own projects, including commercial ones, and client work when the template is part of a broader end product. Each listing shows which one applies in a "License" row.

The paid licence is the one to read closely. Under section 7.3.2 of the Community Terms, you may use the template "solely for the purpose of creating one (1) end product or project", and you may not use it "in more than one project, website, product, or client engagement". Both licences also bar reselling the template or turning it into a competing template.

Some creators sell wider rights separately. Lunis Design's All-Access pass ($249) lists a commercial licence for unlimited projects, and Spector's page describes an Extended Pro option for use across multiple client or personal projects. Those are the creator's own offers, so read the listing before you assume the default.

Refunds, Support and Updates on the Marketplace

All three sit with the creator. Framer's terms say it is not a party to disputes between buyers and creators, including "payment, refunds, or chargebacks", and that the creator is "solely" responsible for support, such as fixing bugs and troubleshooting.

Creators must keep a valid support email address and respond in a reasonable timeframe, but there is no Marketplace-wide refund window or update promise. What you get depends on the seller: Caspia's listing offers free email support, while Spector's lists lifetime email and video support and regular updates.

  • Refunds: ask the creator, under the checkout provider's and the creator's own policy.
  • Bugs: report them to the creator's support email shown on the listing.
  • Updates: only what the listing promises; there is no platform-wide guarantee.
  • Figma files: included only when the listing says so.

Framer Marketplace vs Buying Direct from a Studio

The real differences are the licence and who you deal with, not the template format. A template bought from a studio's own site is still remixed into your Framer account the same way. What changes is the licence you get, the checkout, and whether one seller stands behind every template you buy.

Framer Bundle $159, or a Pro or Ultra plan

Our licence is in the Waida terms of service: a single template, a platform bundle and a Pro plan are licensed to one person for an unlimited number of projects, personal, commercial and client work alike, and Ultra covers up to three people. The terms also say plainly that a copy obtained through a third-party marketplace is covered by that marketplace's licence instead.

That matters for our own free templates. Remix Zelda from the Framer Marketplace and Framer's Limited licence applies. Sign in with a free Waida account and remix it from our free Framer templates and our unlimited-project licence applies.

Waida Framer Templates You Can Remix Free

These four are Waida's own templates, free on Framer with a free Waida account: sign in, then remix. We include them because they show what a direct licence covers, not because they are the only good choices. Our wider Framer template catalogue also has premium designs from $49 to $99.

How to Choose Where to Buy a Framer Template

Match the licence to the job. For one site of your own, a Single-Use Marketplace licence is enough and the Marketplace has the widest choice. For client work or several sites from one design, check the licence first, because the default paid licence covers one project.

  1. Count your projects. One personal or company site fits any licence; repeat client work needs an unlimited-project licence.
  2. Read the License row on the listing, then the creator's page for any extended or All-Access offer.
  3. Check the seller's support and refund terms before paying, since Framer does not step in.
  4. Confirm what is included: page count, CMS collections, and whether a Figma file comes with it.
  5. Price the whole site, template plus a Framer plan; our Framer pricing guide breaks down the plans.

If you want help after buying, our template customisation service sets a template up with your content, and premium vs free templates covers when paying for a template is worth it at all.

Frequently asked questions

Does Framer sell the templates on the Framer Marketplace?

No. Independent creators sell them. Framer's Community Terms say Framer does not process payments between creators and buyers; each paid template links to the creator's own checkout.

Can I use a paid Framer Marketplace template for more than one website?

Not under the default licence. Paid templates come with a Single-Use Commercial Licence covering one end product or project, unless the creator sells an extended licence.

Can I use a free Framer Marketplace template for client work?

Yes, with a condition. Framer's Limited Commercial Licence allows client work when the free template is incorporated into a broader end product, and you may not resell the template itself.

Who handles refunds for a Framer Marketplace template?

The creator. Framer's terms say it is not a party to disputes over payments, refunds or chargebacks, so refund terms depend on the seller and their checkout provider.

Are Waida Studio templates on the Framer Marketplace?

Our free Framer templates are listed there, and copies remixed from the Marketplace fall under Framer's licence. Remixed from waidastudio.com with a free account, they come with our unlimited-project licence.

Do Framer templates include the Figma file?

Only when the listing says so. At Waida Studio, Figma files are sold separately at $19 each or in the Figma Bundle, except Zelda and Medonix, whose Figma files are free.

The Framer Marketplace is a good place to browse, and its free templates cost nothing to try. For paid templates, remember that you are buying from an independent creator under a one-project licence, with refunds and support set by that creator.

If you build sites for clients, or want one seller behind every template, our Framer templates are licensed for unlimited projects: 24 are free with a free account, premium ones are $49 to $99, and the Framer Bundle is $159 for every current and future Framer template. Plans are on the pricing page.
